To the editor:

In an article in Thursday’s Journal-World regarding transgender athletes, state Sen. Mark Steffen made the statement that “the male (is) a genetically and time-engineered superior machine.” I had doubts about that statement, but then read an article on the same page regarding the arrest of Senate Majority Leader Gene Suellentrop. He was stopped by the police as he was driving the wrong way on I-70 and then fleeing the police for 10 minutes before being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, driving the wrong way and fleeing from law enforcement. However, a judge ordered him released hours later saying there was “not sufficient evidence to support his arrest.”

I doubt any female could have pulled that off!
