Letter to the editor: Self-interest
To the editor:
I’m sure the residents of Lawrence and the state of Kansas have many concerns they would like their state legislators to address.
To read the latest article in the Journal-World about our Lawrence representative, Mike Amyx in the House of Representatives, it is very disheartening to see that he is spending his time and energy to propose a bill regarding barber shop regulations. This follows his failed attempt to create a bill to regulate barber poles.
What’s next on his agenda? Regulation of haircuts?
Perhaps at the next election, we should consider someone who is aware of and will address everyone’s concerns rather than being preoccupied with his own barber shop business.
Larry J. Mills,
Lawrence
