Letter to the editor: Praise for local history kiosks

To the editor:

I would like to publicly thank Derek Rogers and the Parks and Recreation staff on behalf of the Lawrence Branch NAACP Community Coordination and History Committee for their having installed the informational kiosk at the Lawrence Aquatic Center downtown and on behalf of the Guardians of Grover Barn for their having installed three informational kiosks and a brochure holder at the Grover Barn Underground Railroad Historic Site. The kiosks are a valuable tool for bringing the history of Lawrence, both good and bad, to the public, and Parks and Recreation’s assistance in helping the two organizations make them available has been invaluable.

Kerry Altenbernd,

Lawrence
