Letter to the editor: Enough already

To the editor:

I’ve had it. Enough already. The government gets you a free ride to get a free vaccine, and then they want to bribe you, pay you and give you free whatever to get a vaccine. Kansas and Missouri are mulling a lottery to reward people. One state gives prizes up to $1 million to get a vaccine shot.

What has this nation become where we have to give you free stuff to give you something that is free?

How about a different solution: If you fail to get a vaccination for COVID, Medicare/Medicaid and your health insurance will not cover your doctor or hospitalization bills if you get the virus. I understand that it is your choice and accept that. Now you accept the consequences of your actions should you choose to forgo vaccination. I should not have to pay for the consequences of your choice with higher taxes or insurance premiums.
