Letter to the editor: Affordable ‘formula’

To the editor:

Affordable Housing should be a concern for everyone, those with housing and those who wish to have a house.

The City Commission, along with the school district and county, has the formula guaranteed to make housing affordable.

1. Higher city utility rates.

2. Higher property taxes.

3. Increased spending and construction in the school district.

4. Unionization of city employees and higher wages.

5. Increase of fees in planning and development.

These five steps will guarantee “affordable” housing, and we have the incumbents to thank for their wisdom.
