Letter to the editor: Incompetent plan

To the editor:

The county health department’s failed rollout of its incompetent Phase 2 COVID vaccine plan borders on negligence. They have had at least six months to plan for the delivery of the vaccine. Only incompetence would deliver a plan such as theirs. By their count there are 40,000 people in the county who are eligible under Phase 2. Why would you not implement a system to identify interested citizens and schedule appointments ahead of time? Every successful county/state health system nationwide has followed that plan. How many more Douglas County citizens will become ill and possibly die because of their incompetence in delivery of the vaccine?
