To the editor:

I’m a lifelong Republican, and I identify as deeply conservative. I voted for both Rep. Jake LaTurner and Sen. Roger Marshall (in both the primary and general elections).

I contributed money to Marshall’s campaign. I had a sign for Marshall in my yard. During the primary campaign, I made impassioned arguments to my family members to convince them to vote for Marshall. I thought he was better than the other candidate. Now I am ashamed of it.

In their first days in office, both LaTurner and Marshall have shown us that they are unfit for office. By supporting the objections to counting electoral votes for certain states, they told the world that they don’t care about our democracy. They care more about currying favor with the Trumps.

Donald Trump continues to whine about unproven voter fraud. He is lying. LaTurner and Marshall know he is lying. Yet they joined in his asinine charade anyway. Shame on them.

They deserve to be removed from Congress. If that does not happen, they deserve to lose their next election. And every election they run in, for the rest of their lives.
