Letter to the editor: Remove them

To the editor:

Sens. Josh Hawley and Roger Marshall should be removed from office immediately. What they did Wednesday night was no less than treason.

Unfortunately, I doubt they will be held accountable any more than Donald Trump will be. All our representatives seem terrified of a “man” who is no more than a schoolyard bully — a spoiled, rude, philandering, lying crook. What is the power he holds over these spineless and, yes, mindless “representatives” that we sent to Washington to represent us?

Our biggest fear, however, in spite of the historic events of Wednesday, should be what happens next. Unless other officials act now, Trump has almost two more weeks to throw his giant tantrum — a tantrum that morphed into a full-blown insurrection. He incited treasonous action in which five people died, more than 500 elected representatives and countless more staff members were terrorized for six hours, and property belonging to the American people was damaged.

Our experience of him should warn us that in a few days, when he comes down from this “high,” he’ll seek his next one.

Lawrence
