Letter to the editor: A very bad example

To the editor:

I’m disappointed and angry over Trump’s Senate acquittal, and I think if all senators were impartial and not partisan/biased in his favor, he would have been found guilty.

I think Trump’s legacy will be that he’s been a sore loser, which his behavior and rhetoric have shown. GOP leaders should have rejected his spoiled child/sore loser rhetoric long before Jan. 6, but they did not.

Trump has set a bad example to young people, and if he won’t allow an amicable and peaceful transfer of power if he loses an election, then he should never run for office again. It angers me that he’s gloating over the acquittal when he should not. Trump did not make America great. He was a great divider while in office, constantly tweeting bad things about the Democrats and the previous Democratic president, who gracefully allowed a transfer of power to him when he was elected. Trump lacks in class and professionalism, and it got worse the longer he was in office. We need a president who is not egotistical, who is mature and acts in a respectful, professional way, which Trump has not.

Kay Kennedy,
