Letter to the editor: The ‘common good’

To the editor:

What’s all of this nonsense about “common good”? Who cares about any of that. I care about me, and me only, and what I care about is my freedom! First they tell you to put on that darned mask, and now they even want you to drive in residential areas at no more than 25 mph! Common good my foot. If I want to drive in neighborhoods, I can drive at any speed I darn well please. Stop signs, traffic lights — who needs them? Next thing you know, they’ll tell us to wear a mask and a seat belt while driving 25 mph. Nonsense. My freedom is the only thing I care about, not any of the rest of you! Common good! Bah humbug!
