Letter to the editor: Letter was sexist
To the editor:
Regarding Dana Anderson’s letter to the Journal-World Sept. 15: His summary of what he learned about Hunter Biden from a book by Peter Schweizer, a senior editor-at-large at a far right media aggregator (Breitbart) is not very illuminating. It is, instead, a sad recitation of Republican talking-point responses to the documented grifting and mendacity by Donald Trump and his children, a weak “the other side does it too” kind of argument.
But what really got me were his comments about Kamala Harris. To repeat them here, to give them any more space than they have already been given, would make me part of the problem. Interested readers can reread the letter online. What I will say is that Mr. Anderson’s distaste for Ms. Harris had nothing to do with policy positions. It was all about who she dated, their age difference, and his speculations about the transactional nature of one relationship, a relationship neither he nor Mr. Schweizer knows anything about. In other words, it was a sexist, misogynistic rant that said more about Mr. Anderson than it did about Ms. Harris.
If Mr. Anderson is looking for books that illuminate the character of our politicians, he might be interested in Bob Woodward’s book “Rage,” which is based on actual tape recordings of Trump and others.
