Letter to the editor: Inappropriate home

To the editor:

The Castle Tea Room exudes an opulence, outside and even more so on the inside of that beautiful building and Lawrence landmark. I can’t imagine a less appropriate home for the United Way of Douglas County. This umbrella organization has only one purpose: to serve numerous agencies, the vast majority of which struggle just to stay alive in assisting their often poor constituencies. Optics may not be everything, but really?
