Letter to the editor: Keep water clean
To the editor:
In this week’s newsletter, Sen. Jerry Moran states concerning the president’s rollback of the Clean Water Act, ” In doing so, the president eliminated uncertainty.” It would be better said that the president has deregulated the Clean Water Act, opening up our rivers and streams to unregulated pollution from agro and industrial chemicals. It may be a big win for farmers and ranchers, but at what costs to citizens who use such waterways for food, recreation and drinking water? Not to mention the contamination of ground water.
It’s common sense to keep the waterways clean, and at some point the citizens will be paying to clean up this president’s deregulated pollution: environmental, economic and constitutional.
