Letter to the editor: Not enough stalls
To the editor:
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, last check, Lawrence had a population of nearly 100,000 people. The Lawrence Public Library has three bathroom stalls for men, one of which patrons may not even be aware of in the children’s area, a family restroom. There are two men’s bathrooms with one stall each. Given the size of Lawrence, I find the size of the facilities to be severely lacking. Whoever planned this library and designed it to include these three stalls for men seriously lacked foresight. Often, somebody will either be in the stall and you’ll have to wait or take a chance on one of the other restrooms.
I’ve reached out to the library to recommend adding more bathrooms in a remodel, should the library ever renovate, but that’s an iffy thing in the distant future. I try to not to plan on using the library’s bathrooms if I can help it. If I can, I hold it! You should too!
J.J. Ingram,
Lawrence
