To the editor:

Republicans are struggling now to defend the president against facts being revealed about his phone call to President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine. They are lobbying against the process Democrats are using in the impeachment inquiry rather than refuting the facts that have been presented by numerous officials. Now that transparency is being brought to the investigation, Republicans are flummoxed at what to do since they know the facts presented are irrefutable. They seem to be trying to make it seem that what Trump did wasn’t too bad and was OK and unimpeachable.

Really, will American citizens on the left, right or independent buy this? If the majority do buy into this, future administrations will feel empowered to do more illegal and repulsive acts, and this beautiful Democratic Republic can and will be changed forever.

We must all contact our congressional member and let her or him know that, if you believe as I do, there is no alternative but to impeach and remove President Donald John Trump!
