Letter to the editor: Quit focusing on losers

To the editor:

Why is it that every morning when I look forward to reading the Journal-World I feel like I’m reading the National Enquirer? Each and every day you publish stories of crime, rape, robbery and afford it front-page coverage. Is this what our city is all about? There are so many other noteworthy events and good, honest people who make up our citizenry. We have a great university in our midst, cultural events that abound with renowned performers, a community that supports each other in numerous endeavors. Let’s focus on the things that make Lawrence a great place to live and not on the losers who get front-page notoriety.

John Bellome,

Lawrence
