Letter to the editor: Is this America?
To the editor:
If I am being honest, Donald Trump was never my cup of tea. I was not a fan. In the last few weeks I have watched the president of the United States very closely. I am currently afraid of him and what he is doing to America.
I have three areas of major concern:
1) His conduct with other countries is crossing several lines. I believe he was blackmailing Ukraine. He has admitted to it, but just doesn’t realize his actions are wrong. I don’t want to worry that information is garnered by abusing other countries. I want to make sure Sen. Jerry Moran, Sen. Pat Roberts and Rep. Steve Watkins are watching his actions.
2) An American president is meant to be a leader and someone the world can look to and trust. His lies and bravado hurt America. Period.
3) It is really scary and upsetting to watch him interact with the military leaders. On several different topics he ignored advice from career military officials. His intent is unclear in two of the incidents I am thinking of. His pulling troops at the request of Turkey’s president was troubling. He never explained why he removed troops from our ally and sent them to Saudi Arabia. Another thing that is upsetting is his pardon of war criminals. This is wrong and disgusting to hear what these men did, that Trump thought they should be forgiven for. I want Moran, Roberts and Watkins to know that we are watching Trump very closely and he is slurring, making lies up and having temper tantrums on Twitter daily. Is this what America is?
