Letter to the editor: Treasonous negligence
To the editor:
Our U.S. Rep. Steve Watkins said of the Mueller Report, “There doesn’t appear to be much there.” (Associated Press, July 31). If you actually read the report, there is enough about Russian interference with our democracy to cause concern, outrage and a sense of urgency. Mueller, in his only significant departure from script during his congressional testimony, underscored this point: Russians are interfering with elections “as we sit here.” To ignore this ongoing threat, as Sen. Mitch McConnell and Watkins seem determined to do, is tantamount to treason. Write your representative and demand action.
Paul Enos,
Lawrence
