The Lawrence Schools Foundation has received a $40,000 donation from Truity Credit Union, according to a news release from the foundation on Tuesday.
The release said Truity representatives presented the donation to the Lawrence Schools Foundation Board of Trustees and the foundation’s executive director at the annual Community Education Breakfast on Sept. 13.
The donation will support various districtwide needs, including professional development for educators, the release said.
“Truity’s generous donation will allow us to continue to provide the necessary support for our educators and students and fill some of the gaps where needs remain due to school budget limitations,” said Dena Johnston, the foundation’s executive director, in the release.
The release said that the foundation’s education breakfast raised $100,000 through sponsorships and ticket sales.
