A portion of the South Lawrence Trafficway (Kansas Highway 10/U.S. 40) was closed Friday night after a two-vehicle crash left one person dead and other seriously injured, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said..

According to an email from DGSO spokesman George Diepenbrock, the section of road between West 27th and Iowa streets closed about 10:40 p.m. and was expected to remain closed for several hours during the crash investigation. Drivers were told to seek alternate routes.

No other information about the wreck was given.
