Driver injured after crashing into building on 23rd Street

A driver was injured on Saturday morning after crashing into a storage facility in the 1500 block of East 23rd Street, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office posted on social media that the crash took place about 6:45 a.m. Saturday. The post said the vehicle was traveling west when it struck the north curb of 23rd Street; the driver then overcorrected, crossed all lanes of 23rd Street and struck the building.
Deputies determined that the driver had fallen asleep, according to the post. He suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and was taken by a private vehicle to LMH Health.
