A 50-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with the roundabout at Lake Pointe Drive and Clinton Parkway, according to Lawrence police.

Witnesses called officers to the scene at 4:12 p.m. after finding the man and his wrecked 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the roadway. He was taken to a Topeka trauma center, where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

The Lawrence Police Accident Investigations Unit is investigating the crash. This is the second fatal motorcycle crash at that intersection this summer.
