A 22-year-old Lawrence man was injured and then cited for DUI after he allegedly drove into another car, which in turn hit another car Saturday in central Lawrence.
Police said the man was southbound on Iowa Street just after 11 p.m. in a gray 1998 Honda Odyssey. Just as he approached 23rd Street he collided with a stopped red 2019 Honda Accord driven by a 36-year-old Lawrence woman. That woman’s car was then pushed into a gray 2015 Ford Expedition driven by a 36-year-old Baldwin City woman.
The women were not injured in the crash. The Honda Odyssey driver, however, sustained nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was cited for operating under the influence, was issued a notice to appear in court and was left in the care of the hospital, police said.
Police believe that everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.
