Police released this image after a reported bank robbery at Bank of America Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The Lawrence Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the Bank of America on Ohio Street.

Police said on social media that initial reports suggested a man in a black beanie cap with a black mask with a design on it and dark clothing fled the bank at Ninth and Ohio streets to the south in the alley between Tennessee Street and Ohio Street.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Police have asked people in the vicinity to check their home security cameras for possible footage of the suspect. Detectives are particularly interested in the area from Eighth to 13th street between Louisiana and Vermont streets. Anyone who has video from that area who may have captured anything of interest Tuesday morning before or after the robbery is asked to contact dispatch at (785) 832-7509.
