A man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly threatened a family with a gun at a Lawrence laundromat.
Police were called around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to the area of 23rd and Louisiana streets to a report of a man, woman and 4-year-old child who were allegedly threatened at gunpoint after a dispute at a nearby laundromat, according to a social media post from the Lawrence Police Department.
The witness told police that he had put his debit card down at the laundromat and the suspect picked up the card and used it. When the first man confronted the suspect outside the business, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened the man and his family, according to the post.
The man and his family left the laundromat and called police. When officers arrived at the laundromat, the suspect was gone but police were able to track him down around 1 a.m. near Eighth and Kentucky streets, according to the post.
The suspect, Cadence Elijah Nunez-Ruckman, 27, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, endangering a child, criminal threat and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail without bond.
