Two Lawrence men were charged on Thursday with aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary for allegedly taking alcoholic beverages from the occupants of an apartment at gunpoint, according to court documents.
The men, Trevon Andrew Anderson, 19, and Isaiah Jawone Mabry, 21, were each charged in Douglas County District Court with one count of aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated robbery, according to charging documents.
The documents allege that on June 28, Anderson and Mabry entered an apartment at The Reserve apartment complex, 2511 W. 31st St., without permission and used a handgun to rob the apartment’s three occupants of their liquor and beer.
Anderson and Mabry were arrested by Lawrence police at around 1 p.m. Wednesday at the same apartment complex, which is listed as their residence in the jail booking log.
On Thursday, Anderson and Mabry appeared in court from the Douglas County Jail via Zoom. Judge Blake Glover issued each man a $60,000 cash bond and appointed Dakota Loomis to serve as Anderson’s defense attorney and Branden Smith as Mabry’s defense attorney. Glover said that even though the men had no known criminal history, the nature of the charges warranted a high bond amount.
Neither Anderson nor Mabry had posted bond as of Thursday afternoon.
