Lawrence police are looking for suspects after two men were stabbed Wednesday in separate incidents.

The first incident occurred around 4 p.m. just north of LMH Health, as reported by the Journal-World. By 6 p.m. police were searching the woods near Sandra J. Shaw Park with a drone but were unable to find a suspect.

On Thursday, police released a description of the alleged assailant as a bald, white male with tattoos, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, carrying a backpack and wearing necklaces and a tactical vest over black and gray clothing.

The victim told police that the man approached him and stabbed him as he was exiting the walking trail from the park just north of the hospital on Maine Street.

Police were alerted to the second incident around 11:30 p.m., when a man arrived at LMH Health with stab wounds. The victim told police the incident occurred about an hour earlier near the intersection of 33rd Street and Ousdahl Road. The victim was unable to give police a useful description of his attacker.

Both victims made it to the hospital without emergency services and were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The two incidents are not believed to be related, police said.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call dispatch at 785-832-7509.
