A 21-year-old Topeka man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of rape, Douglas County Jail records show.

The man was arrested at 6:30 p.m. at the jail and charged with one count of rape. He posted a $25,000 cash or surety bond and was released from custody around 8:15 p.m.

Major Trent McKinley of the Lawrence Police Department said the arrest stemmed from an October 2020 incident that the police department investigated, but he declined to provide further information.
