Woman hit by car still in serious condition, Lawrence police say
A woman who was hit by a vehicle last week remains in serious condition at an area hospital, according to Lawrence police.
The woman, whose name and age have not been provided to the Journal-World, was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross the intersection of Clinton Parkway and Lawrence Avenue on July 29, the Journal-World reported. The woman was flown to an area hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries.
LPD spokesperson Patrick Compton said via email Friday that the department did not have any further details about the woman’s condition.
However, he said that a service dog who was accompanying the woman “suffered only minor injuries and is fine.” It was not immediately clear Friday what type of service dog was with the woman.
“This incident is still under investigation and once we can, we will release more details,” Compton said.
