Amadou Oury Bah

The suspect who was reportedly captured on surveillance footage burglarizing the Islamic Center of Lawrence has been booked into the Douglas County Jail, online records indicate.

Amadou Oury Bah, 32, was arrested at the jail in Omaha, Neb., taken back to Kansas and then booked into the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

Lawrence police identified Bah as the man in surveillance footage from the Islamic Center, 1917 Naismith Drive. The footage reportedly shows Bah taking donation boxes that contained between $1,000 and $2,000 in cash.

Bah was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a non-dwelling with intent to commit a felony, and theft of property or services with a value between $1,500 and $25,000, according to the booking log.

Bah was previously arrested for an unrelated reason in Johnson County, the Journal-World has reported. That booking log indicated his residence was in Phoenix. The Douglas County booking entry Wednesday, however, indicates Bah has an address in Seattle.

He was being held in jail on $15,000 cash or surety bond as of Wednesday evening, according to online records. Charges were pending in Douglas County District Court.
