A Lawrence man has been charged with sex crimes against a teen that allegedly occurred over a four-year period.

Frank J. Martinez, 35, is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, all off-grid level felonies, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child, both lower-level felonies, according to a complaint filed Thursday in Douglas County District Court.

The abuse allegedly started in 2015, when the victim was 12, and continued through this year, according to the complaint.

Martinez was arrested Wednesday at his home, according to jail records.

He made his first appearance in court Thursday, where he was appointed an attorney and his bond was set at $150,000, according to court records.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office did not release Martinez’s mugshot to the Journal-World.
