May 6 — Sheriff’s office identifies man killed in motorcycle crash near Eudora

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred Saturday afternoon near Eudora.

In an email sent shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Kristen Channel, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said the name of the man killed in the accident is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Channel said the accident occurred about 5 p.m. Saturday when a male motorcyclist westbound in the 2300 block of North 1400 Road left the roadway. The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a Kansas City area hospital, where he died. The 2300 block of 1400 Road is just east of Eudora.

At this time, the sheriff’s office is releasing no other details of the accident, which it continues to investigate.
