An area man was arrested this week on child sexual exploitation charges stemming from alleged crimes in 2015 and 2016.
Marc A. Gardner, 41, is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, both felonies. According to the complaint filed in Douglas County District Court, in late 2015 and early 2016, he allegedly possessed a visual depiction of a child under 18 engaging in sexually explicit conduct and promoted a sexually explicit performance by a child he knew or thought was under 18.
Gardner had a Lawrence address when the charges against him were filed in June 2017, according to the complaint.
His current listed address is Valley Falls, according to jail records from his arrest on Thursday.
Gardner’s bond was listed at $7,500. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in court on the charges Friday.
