Man arrested after reportedly flashing gun at downtown Lawrence bar

A man who got kicked out of a downtown Lawrence bar reportedly displayed a gun when he wasn’t allowed back in early Wednesday morning.

Lawrence police were dispatched to the Jazzhaus, 926 Massachusetts St., just after midnight for a reported disturbance with weapons, Sgt. Amy Rhoads said in an email.

The suspect had been removed from the business for a disturbance on the patio but then returned and tried to get back in, she said. When he was denied re-entry, he reportedly revealed a gun he had concealed in his waistband, she said.

The man left before police arrived, Rhoads said. When police found him, he did not have the gun, she said, but officers located it later.

Lawrence resident Domanick J. Hall, 20, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident, according to jail records. He was charged and scheduled to make his first appearance in Douglas County District Court Wednesday afternoon.
