First responders appear on the scene of a one-vehicle fatality crash east of Lawrence on Friday, April 26, 2019. The pickup truck, in which one person died, came to rest off the roadway in the 1800 block of North 1500 Road.

Authorities have released the name of a man killed Friday in a one-vehicle accident east of Lawrence.

Tyler Wise, 36, of Lawrence, was driving a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup that crashed just before 2 p.m. in the 1800 block of North 1500 Road, Sgt. Kristen Channel of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said via email Monday.

His pickup was westbound when he apparently lost control on the gravel, left the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled, Channel said previously.

Wise was the only person in the truck, which came to rest north of the road.

A dog that was taken from the wreckage by a humane society worker did not appear to be hurt.
