A man linked to a reported aggravated robbery and other crimes in 2018 in Lawrence has been arrested.

Liberty J. Morgan, 23, was arrested Friday on a warrant and held on $35,000 bond, according to jail records, which list his address as Pine Ridge, S.D. Court records filed last year list a Lawrence address.

He’s charged with aggravated robbery, robbery and criminal threat, all felonies, plus assault and two counts of battery, misdemeanors, according to a complaint filed in April 2018 in Douglas County District Court.

Morgan allegedly took cash from and inflicted bodily harm on the aggravated robbery victim, according to the complaint. Charges allege that Morgan also robbed, battered and assaulted the same man, along with battering another person and threatening unnamed victims.

On April 6, 2018, Lawrence police responded to the 2500 block of West Perimeter Road to investigate a battery report, Officer Derrick Smith previously told the Journal-World via email. Smith said officers interviewed two suspects and submitted reports to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office requesting robbery and other charges.

The other suspect, charged at the same time as Morgan, was arrested on a warrant in September 2018. Court records indicate prosecutors dismissed charges against him in November.
