A University of Kansas student has reported to police that she was recently raped in a campus residence hall.

The woman reported to police on Nov. 2 that she had been raped a week earlier, between midnight and 1 a.m. Oct. 26 in Hashinger Hall, 1632 Engel Road, KU Police Chief Chris Keary said.

Keary said the alleged suspect is not a KU student but that the victim did know him.

Keary said the case remained open.

“We’re still investigating,” he said. “It’s still ongoing.”

The Journal-World inquired about the incident after it appeared Thursday on the KU police online crime report log.

Hashinger Hall is one of six co-ed dorms in the Daisy Hill neighborhood of the KU campus.
