Kasold Drive has reopened after a gas leak in the area forced its closure Friday afternoon south of Sixth Street.

A construction crew struck a gas line at about 1:40 p.m. near Kasold and Ninth Court, Officer Derrick Smith of the Lawrence Police Department said.

Kasold was shut down south of Eighth Street to Harvard Road, Smith said.

The road reopened around 3:10 p.m., Smith said.
