The University of Kansas will be hosting its annual raising of a tipi in celebration of Indigenous People’s Day.

The event will be on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the Strong Hall Lawn, 1450 Jayhawk Blvd. It will be led by 2025-2026 Miss Haskell, Angelina Giago, Oglala Lakota & Hunkparti Dakota along with KU First Nations Student Association students and others who will be assisting.

While Indigenous People’s Day is on Monday, KU is currently on fall break until Wednesday.

Light refreshments will be served for attendees and KU students will have the opportunity to network with other students.
