The online MBA program offered by KU’s School of Business is now a top-10 offering in the entire country, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

The online masters in business administration program ranked No. 7 in the 2023 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Online Programs,” which was released on Tuesday. It was the first time KU’s MBA program has been ranked in the top 10 since its launch in 2015. In addition to the overall ranking for the MBA program, the report also ranked the KU MBA program as the fifth best for students who are military veterans.

The ranking comes at a time when the University of Kansas is trying to significantly grow its online presence through its Jayhawk Global program that aims to grow KU’s student total through a combination of online courses and other nontraditional delivery methods.

KU for multiple years has held the No. 1 spot in the U.S. News & World Report rankings among all universities offering a master’s in special education. KU maintained that No. 1 ranking in the 2023 report.

KU also was ranked in several other areas. They include:

• No. 19 for online master’s in Curriculum and Instruction programs

• No. 23 for online master’s in education programs for veterans

• No. 30 for online master’s in education programs

• No. 79 for online master’s in engineering programs
