A pair of journalists who cover national politics will be featured speakers at the Dole Institute of Politics on Thursday as part of an event looking ahead to the midterm elections.
Gerald Seib, executive Washington editor for the The Wall Street Journal, and Colleen McCain Nelson, executive editor of the Sacramento Bee, will be the keynote speakers at “Fall Forecast: Predicting the 2022 Midterm Elections” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive.
The duo will lead a discussion on challenges facing Democrats and Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections, including how the two parties are struggling to unite their members. The discussion also will highlight particular issues that the two parties are expected to focus on during the election.
Seib is a University of Kansas journalism school graduate who was part of a team of reporters in 2001 that won a Pulitzer Prize at The Wall Street Journal for coverage of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
