KU students will be returning to campus later this month; here are some dates to know

Lawrence’s streets, public transit and businesses will get a little busier in the next couple of weeks as University of Kansas students return to campus.

Fall classes at KU will begin Aug. 22, and students living in on-campus housing will arrive the week before.

The move-in dates for KU student housing will be Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 19. According to KU’s website, residents of Hashinger, Self and Templin halls, the scholarship halls and Stouffer Place will be moving in on Aug. 18, and residents of Oswald, Lewis, Ellsworth, Downs, GSP and Corbin halls will be moving in on Aug. 19. Signs and staff will direct residents to where they need to be for move-in day; specific instructions for each hall are available on KU’s website, housing.ku.edu/move-instructions.

In the days leading up to the start of fall classes, there will also be a series of “Hawk Week” events aimed at new students, including a crash course in KU traditions on Aug. 19 at Memorial Stadium, a block party on Jayhawk Boulevard on Aug. 20, and a variety of kickoff events for various schools and academic departments. More details on these events are available at calendar.ku.edu.
