As Labor Day approaches, multiple organizations will have altered service hours and closures on Monday in recognition of the holiday.

• City of Lawrence offices will be closed.

• Douglas County government offices – including the Treasurer’s Office, Administration and Register of Deeds and the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County – and District Court will be closed.

• Parking meters, lots and garages in downtown Lawrence will be free.

• No Lawrence Transit services will be available, including fixed-route, paratransit and on-demand buses. Central Station will also be closed.

• The Lawrence Public Library will be closed.

• Eagle Bend Golf Course and the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center will be open on Monday. However, all other Parks and Recreation facilities operated by the city will be closed, including Prairie Park Nature Center, Sports Pavilion Lawrence, the Community Building, Holcom Park Recreation Center and East Lawrence Recreation Center.

• The University of Kansas’ administrative offices and campus services will be closed. No classes are scheduled.

• Most LMH Health outpatient clinics and physician offices will be closed, but emergency and inpatient services will remain open.

• All Heartland Community Health Center clinics will be closed.

• Outpatient services at the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center will be closed. If you or someone you know is in crisis, the Treatment & Recovery Center of Douglas County is available for walk-ins. People can also call/text crisis support and response at 988.

Trash, recycling and yard waste collection will be operated as normal, and there will be no change in residential or commercial routes.
