A drum corps plays at the Score Lawrence kickoff event on June 12, 2026 in downtown Lawrence. The group played as fans continued to make their way into the event, which was led up to the 8 p.m. kickoff of the U.S. national team's opening game in the World Cup soccer tournament.

Lawrence’s planned soccer street party before the U.S. team’s final group stage match Thursday night will be moved inside due to potential inclement weather.

Score Lawrence announced Wednesday the soccer street watch party will take place inside The Granada, 1020 Massachusetts St. The event will go on from 4 to 9 p.m.

Originally, the event was planned to be held outside of the Lawrence Arts Center at 940 New Hampshire St., but expected heavy rain in the forecast moved it inside. Lawrence is expected to get between 2 to 3 inches of rain on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service Topeka, and a flood watch is in effect in Lawrence and the rest of Douglas County starting at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The planned entertainment will perform on the Granada stage. A small number of vendors will be located in the building, while food vendors will remain outside, according to Score Lawrence.

A watch party for the USA and Turkey match will still be held at the Lawrence Arts Center at 9 p.m. The Granada will also stream the match.
