Evergy's outage map shows the areas affected by the power outage on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026.

A power outage is affecting hundreds of Evergy customers in much of eastern and North Lawrence, according to the company’s online outage map, and electricity is expected to be restored by 11:30 a.m.

The outage was first reported at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Evergy’s website said, and is affecting areas on the east side of the city as far south as Prairie Park and as far north as Midland Junction. Evergy says that more than 950 customers are affected by this outage.
