The community is invited to a town hall meeting in May regarding risks and challenges faced by local youth.

The event is hosted by Engage Douglas County, a coalition focused on preventing substance misuse and promoting mental health with a primary emphasis on youth under 18. Students, educators, experts and parents are welcome to attend the town hall, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m on Monday, May 4, at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St.

The town hall will cover topics such as underage drinking and marijuana use and will provide information on what Douglas County organizations are doing to lead kids to healthy futures.
