As usual, demand is high for tickets to “The Rocky Horror Show” at Theatre Lawrence. The first three performances have sold out, but tickets remain for a late-night showing on Oct. 25.
Richard O’Brien’s musical will run October 23-25. Tickets for the 11 p.m. show on Oct. 25 are available online at theatrelawrence.com, by calling 785-843-7469, or in-person at the box office, 4660 Bauer Farm Drive, weekdays 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“The Rocky Horror Show” began as an experimental production in a small London theater and went on to become an international stage hit, then a 1975 classic cult film. It is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The show tells the story of Brad and Janet, a couple whose evening takes an unexpected turn when a flat tire strands them during a storm. Seeking shelter, they stumble upon the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, where their strange and sultry journey unfolds.
A hallmark of the show is audience engagement. At Theatre Lawrence, audience members are encouraged to come in costume and participate throughout the show with callbacks, props (provided by Theatre Lawrence) and interactive moments.
The show contains mature language and subject matter and is recommended for people 18 and older.
