Downtown Lawrence Inc. director leaving organization next month to lead downtown Topeka group

Downtown Lawrence Inc. Director Andrew Holt is leaving the organization to take a similar job leading Downtown Topeka Inc..
Holt’s last day with Downtown Lawrence Inc. will be July 7, the Lawrence organization announced.
“We want to thank Andrew for all of his work while at DLI,” Blaine Allmond, board president and owner of Kizer Cummings Jewelers, said in a release. “We wish him the absolute best as he moves on.”
The association said it is making plans for how to address the upcoming leadership vacancy, but didn’t provide specific details about a pending search or other action.
“Plans for the next phase of leadership at DLI are currently underway,” the association said in a press release. “The Board of Directors will share additional announcements about the organization’s future in the coming weeks.”
Holt has been with with DLI since 2023. During his tenure Holt worked to strengthen partnerships to promote downtown businesses, the association said via press release.
In a press release from Downtown Topeka Inc., Holt said he was eager to get to work in Topeka’s downtown district, which is next to the state capitol and home to several corporate offices.
“I’m honored to join Downtown Topeka Inc. at such a pivotal moment,” Holt said. “Downtown Topeka has already shown what’s possible when a city invests in its core. I look forward to working with local businesses, civic leaders, and the broader community to continue that progress and build an even more dynamic future.”
