Protesters gather for Lawrence's No Kings rally on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Watson Park.

Protesters gathered in Watson Park on Saturday to protest against President Donald Trump, in one of the thousands of “No Kings” protests planned on Saturday across the nation.

The protests, held ahead of Trump’s unprecedented military parade in Washington, D.C., are intended to speak out against authoritarianism and civil rights abuses. More than a dozen other protests were scheduled across Kansas on Saturday; the largest was expected to be in Topeka at the state Capitol.
