Here’s a list of Lawrence and Douglas County services with modified hours this week for the Christmas holiday

Many local organizations and municipal offices with regular weekday hours are shut down or have modified schedules this week in observance of Christmas.

The organizations that will be closed or have impacted holiday hours this week, include:

• City of Lawrence – Offices will be closed on Dec. 25.

• Solid Waste services – Residential trash and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day for residential customers who typically have collection on Thursday or Friday. Customers who typically have collection on Thursday will move to Friday, and Friday collection will move to Saturday.

• Lawrence Transit – Fixed-route, paratransit, and on-demand buses will not operate on Dec. 25. Central Station will be closed this week through Friday, Dec. 26.

• Parking – Parking at meters, lots and garages in Downtown Lawrence will be free on Dec. 25.

• Lawrence Parks & Recreation – The administrative office and cemeteries office in South Park will be closed on Dec. 25. In addition, the Community Building, East Lawrence Recreation Center, Holcomb Park Recreation Center, Sports Pavilion Lawrence, Prairie Park Nature Center, Indoor Aquatic Center and Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center will be closed on Christmas.

• Douglas County District Court and the District Attorney’s Office – Offices will be closed on Dec. 24 through Dec. 26.

• Douglas County – Government offices including the Treasurer’s Office, Administration and Register of Deeds and the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County will be closed on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26.

• University of Kansas – Offices on campus will be closed on Dec. 25.

• Lawrence Public Library – The library will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.

• LMH Health – Clinics will close at noon on Dec. 24 and are closed on Dec. 25. Some clinics will be open on Dec. 26, including the Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lawrence Pulmonary Specialists, South Iowa Primary Care and OrthoKansas (open until noon). The hospital and Emergency Department remain open 24/7.

• Heartland Community Health Center – Heartland, Panda Pediatrics, River City Pharmacy, and Bluestem Wellness are closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.

• Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center – Outpatient services will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. If you or someone you know is in crisis, the Treatment & Recovery Center of Douglas County is available for walk-ins. People can also call/text crisis support and response at 988.

• Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health – The clinic and office will be closed from Dec. 24 through Dec. 26.
